U-20 Starlets to depart on Wednesday for Tunisia

The Kenya U -20 women’s soccer team will depart Nairobi on Wednesday night for Tunis Tunisia for the return leg of the FIFA U-20 World Cup qualifiers against their hosts Tunisia. The Kenyan girls go into the match trailing 2-1 after losing at home in Nairobi two weeks ago.

The Kenyan team will hold their final session at the City stadium on Wednesday afternoon before departing later the same night hopeful of overturning the 2-1 scoreline.

“We are ready for the match in Tunisia. The girls are motivated enough. It was unfortunate we lost here at home but we have a good away record and we will bank on the same to ensure we qualify for the next round.’ Said head coach Florence Adhiambo.

Adhiambo will have to do without Laura Kadenge who sustained a minor knee injury on Saturday.

“She has a stubborn knee injury but it is not very bad. She is undergoing treatment and if we qualify she will be available.” Added the coach.

Jackline Ogol is the other missing dependable.Ogol is still undergoing physiotherapy and coach Adhiambo says she is still part of the team.

“Her injury has taken time to heal but she is responding well this far. She has been out for a few weeks but she is a key part of this team.” Added the coach.

Coach Adhiambo is expected to name her traveling squad later this evening.
