The 2012 FKF women premier league champions Matuu girls will have to start the 2013 season without the services of their key players and technical staff that shifted camp at the end of last year.

Team coordinator Douglas Ratemo has confirmed the mass departure but said they still have a strong team to challenge for the title. Over 10 players led by former Matuu Coach Bob Okallo who is now the General Manager at Sporting Queens left the team to join the latter team that has also promised to give a charge at the title.

“Yes we have been hit hard by the mass exodus. It will be a hard blow given the time and energy put in developing of a side that was unbeatable last season.” He said.

"But all is not lost because we still had good players remaining with us and we have done a good recruitment, so we are still in good shape.” He added
