Bright start for Randiek brothers in Kenya Open

Kenya Open Tennis Championship Youth Category started on a good note for brothers  Randal and Ryan Randiek after they won their opening matches at the Nairobi club.The Senior championship starts on 12th.

Randal had an easy 6-2,6-2 win over Gulam Imran in the boys single under 16 category while his brother, Ryan had identical sets win of 6-0 over Kuria Kasumba in the boys single under 12 category.

The Kenya Open attracted  about 40 local junior players from Kisumu, Mombasa, Thika and host city, Nairobi. 

In the other matches, Sheil Kotecha registered a 6-3,6-1 win over Kasombo Robert in the boys single under 16 while Omwanga Jairus and Fatiya Shaif also won their respective matches with a 6-2,6-0 and 6-2,6-3 over Heer Harman and Thakker Eesha in the boy under 12 and girls under 10 respectively.

Kevin Mwangi needed the extra energy to knock out a determined Dennis Nesbit who forced the game to a tie break with Mwangi winning the tie 7-5,7-5 in the under 16 category.

Mulinde Anthony also forced a 6-4,7-6 (1) against Petty Adanga in the boys category while Henry Ayesiga beat Daniel Miheso 6-2,6-1 in the same category.
