The forthcoming Africa Junior Tennis Championship will go on as planned despite the ongoing political anxiety currently engulfing the nation. The tournament is expected to kick off this weekend with the warm up matches from March 12-17 at both Nairobi Club and the public Service grounds.

Kenya Lawn Tennis Association (KLTA) chairlady, Purvi Rawal has assured the public and the players that everything will go on as planned.

“We are expecting over 137 players who have already confirmed to take part to start arriving in the country from March 8th.” She said.

Meanwhile, the Kenya team head coach Evelyn Otula says her players are in good form and spirit ready for the championships.

“I had a few players training outside the country. I can confirm that they have rejoined us and we are full house. Stephanie Mbaya, Abigael Tete-Hart and Faith Nyabera  are all in good form.” She said.
