Mathare United Overview

Mathare United was founded in 1987 with deep roots in the Mathare Youth Sports Association (MYSA), a Nairobi slum-based youth and community programme, and won the Kenyan Premier League in 2008. The club survived a relegation battle in 2025-26 and appointed David Ouma, a MYSA product returning from a spell coaching in Tanzania, as head coach in June 2026 ahead of the new season.
