The Naivasha Stadium, formerly known as Sher Karuturi Limited Stadium then Sher Stadium is a football Stadium and home to the Kenya Premier League sides Karuturi Sports and Oserian F.C. it is also nicknamed ‘Old Trafford.
The 5,000-capacity Stadium is located on the Moi South Lake Road, Naivasha in Kenya. Naivasha is a City in Kenya and a market town in the Rift Valley Province of Kenya, north west of the capital, Nairobi. It is located on the shores of Lake Naivasha along the Nairobi-Nakuru Highway.
The renovation of the Stadium by the County Government of Nakuru and the construction of an ultra- modern 50,000 seater Stadium has been opposed by a section of residents citing that the squatters who occupy about 4 acres of the 27-acre facility would be rendered homeless yet they have been occupying the land for almost two decades. The court once suspended the project temporarily until it was determined but later on (2016) gave a go ahead since the squatters do not occupy the remaining 23 acres.
The proposed 50,000-seater Nakuru International and Sports Convention Center would have an underground parking able to accommodate up to 10,000 vehicles and other State-of-the-art facilities that fit the International pedigree of a Sports Complex.
