The result was a stadium of international standard and repute ranked one of the best in the African continent. The stadium facilities ranged from a Stadion hotel, an Aquatic Centre, an Indoor Arena and the Main stadium. Prior to its completion, the Nyayo National stadium was the only stadium of choice for large events.
