Hope Center Kawangware info

The World Hope Center, Kenya is commonly known in Kenya by the general population and sports lovers alike as Hope Center Kawangware. It is a football stadium located in Kawangware, one of the suburbs in the Kenyan Capital, Nairobi. Kawangware is a slum area about 15km West of the Nairobi Central Business District, between Lavington and Dagoretti

The 5,000-capacity stadium is home to the Kenya Premier League side, Nairobi City Stars.

It also holds home soccer matches for two others in the Football Kenya Federation Division One; Kenya Revenue Authority and Administration Police as well as Vapor FC, an Academy affiliated to Nairobi City Stars.

Before it was handed over to Ambassadors Football (Formerly Ambassadors in Sports (AIS)) in 2008, Nairobi City Stars had grown under World Hope International at the World Hope Center. Then the Club was known as World Hope Football Club from 2003 when World Hope International took over Kawangware F.C that had been relegated from the Premier League.

Even after, AIS took over, Nairobi City Stars retained the Hope Center ground. The ground is still owned and operated by the Charitable organization as part of its Community Social responsibility to eliminate poverty and also create awareness on HIV/AIDS.
