Bukhungu Stadium info

Kakamega County, Kenya, brags of one of the oldest Stadia in the region, Bukhungu Stadium. The 30,000 seater lies on Kisumu Kakamega Road just 700 meters from Kakamega Central Business District, opposite Nakumatt Supermarket. It is also flanked by Masinde Muliro University of which they share the perimeter fence. It is home to  Kenya Premier League side,  Kakamega Homeboyz, and formerly hosted Western Stima, and Motcom a Ministry of Works team based in Kakamega town in the 90s.

After the Successful construction of phase with a capacity of 5000 seats the County Government has embarked on phase two which will see the Stadium enhance its capacity to a 30,000 seater stadium 

once completed the stadium shall have a tartan track for track and field competition as well as hosting of large events which may include and not limited to political gatherings, crusades along with concerts. Similarly, this stadium is used by individuals in pursuit of personal fitness for morning and evening jogs; at least when the weather is favorable.

Bukhung Stadium is located in Lurambi Constituency within the vicinity of the Kakamega forest

Kakamega is the 4th largest County in Population and boasts of producing some of the great Talents in Kenya's Sporting Arena. It is the home of the famous Green Commandos from Kakamega School, the Scorpions from Musingu High School and Shanderama High School as well as the Mukumu Girls and Malava Volleyball Team that produced Players like Janet Wanja, and Triza Atuka Among Others. Kakamega County has also been producing excellent talents in Rugby and Hockey with Kakamega High School Koonzo and Musingu High as one fo the notable talent-producing hubs.
