Zambia friendly with Great Britain called off

Zambia are set to make their Olympic debut this year in Tokyo after winning the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Women's Olympic qualifying tournament.  The Zambian side booked their place at Tokyo 2020 after drawing 4-4 with Cameroon, winning the two-legged tie on away goals

 Zambia's friendly with Great Britain set for July 1  has been called off.  Zambia pulled out because of complications linked to Covid-19 restrictions.

The fixture was set to take place at Stoke City's Bet365 Stadium on July 1 ahead of both teams' participation at this summer's Olympics.

The Football Association issued a statement saying, " "Due to circumstances beyond everyone's control Zambia have had to withdraw from the National Lottery-hosted GB Women's Football send-off game on 1 July."
