The youthful team of Jeff Muthoki, Winston Kirimi, Kevin Kabugi, and Ian Kirimi triumphed at the 16th leg of the KCB East Africa Golf Tour, held at the 9-hole Nanyuki Golf Course on Saturday. Their combined score of 116 points earned them the title of overall team winners.
Close behind, the team of Gabriel Miungi, captain Anthony Rukwaro, James Warui, and Rama Maulid posted 109 points, securing second place in a highly competitive tournament that featured 103 top amateur players. Both teams now advance to the tour's grand finale, scheduled for December 6, 2024.
After the win, Muthoki expressed his excitement: "I’m really grateful—it’s been a long time coming. The tournament was originally set for July, and we practiced the entire week. A lot of hard work went into this. As they say, practice makes perfect. It’s been tough watching the veteran players win, so we were determined to step up this weekend."
