Win over Shabana returns Rangers to winning ways

Nairobi City Stars redeemed themselves with a 3-1 win over Kariobangi Sharks at the Kasarani Annex.

Posta Rangers returned to winning ways emphatically after edging Shabana 3-1 at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos on Saturday afternoon.

Prior to the game, Rangers had registered three consecutive draws, against Kakamega Homeboyz, KCB and AFC Leopards.

However, John Kamau's charges are sure to maintaining their stay at the summit for at least another week after humbling Shabana to open a four-point gap pending the outcome of Sunday matches.

Felix Oluoch gave Rangers the lead in the sixth minute rising high to head in a corner to open his goal account at the club.

Eugene Mukangula leveled matters for Shabana four minutes, registering his first goal for the Glamour Boys since joining from AFC Leopards.

Rangers restored their lead in the 18th minute through Brian Otieno with an own goal by Shabana goalkeeper Erick Ongiri in the 39th minute sealing maximum points for Rangers.

The game paved the way for Sofapaka who played Leopards to a one-all draw.

Leopards led for the better part of the game through Brian Yakhama's penalty only for Sofapaka to equalize in the added minutes through Humphrey Mieno.

 

At the same time on Saturday, Nairobi City Stars redeemed themselves with a 3-1 win over Kariobangi Sharks at the Kasarani Annex.

Vincent Owino scored twice with Mohammad Bajaber adding the third one to see City Stars bag maximum points at the expense of Sharks.

Geoffrey Onyango got the consolation goal for Sharks who missed a number of junior player who are with the U18 national team in the CECAFA tournament in Kisumu.

Meanwhile, Bandari will have to thank their goalkeeper Joseph Ochuka for saving them blushes as his goal kick secured them a point in their 1-1 draw against FC Talanta at Mbaraki Grounds.

Talanta were headed for a 1-0 win but Ochuka's long kick earned Bandari a point after sailing past the Talanta goalkeeper.
