We know Kenya's style of play, Algeria coach says
Algeria coach has said his team will not underrate Kenya when the two teams meet on Sunday in Cairo
The Algerian coach Djamel Belmadi has said his team does not hold any favorites tag as they head into their first match against The Harambee Stars of Kenya on Sunday.
Speaking in a pre match press briefing on Saturday in Cairo , the coach noted that " Who said we are favorites. Look at Senegal for example, they participated in the last world cup."
" We respect Kenya , it is a good team playing as a unit and defending very well. We have studied them and we know it is very difficult to score against them. We know all the players and we will take them as a very strong side."
The coach added that "I don't believe we are the favorites, I believe that we are here to only give our best in the first match, to be competitive."
Talking ahead of the match, Algerian captain Riyadh Mehraz who is a former African footballer of the year said ," I respect their captain Wanyama who plays for a very good team in the Premier League. But I don't think our attention is going to focus on him. Kenya have many other good quality players."
This will be the first time Kenya is making a comeback to the African stage in 15 years since their last appearance in 2004.
The two teams will clash at 11PM Kenyan time in Cairo in the first of the Group C action.
