Through official communication released on their social media platforms, the club said, “We can confirm that we will not be taking part in next season's Football Kenya Federation Premier League until the confusion surrounding football in the country is resolved.”

Barely days after sealing their survival in the top tier, Wazito have now pulled out of the FKF Premier League.

Through official communication released on their social media platforms, the club said, “We can confirm that we will not be taking part in next season's Football Kenya Federation Premier League until the confusion surrounding football in the country is resolved.”

The push and pull in the game has made it difficult for investors to pump money into the game and it is our hope that the issue is resolved as soon as possible.

The club will not make any further comments on the subject.”

The Fred Ambani coached side had just come from a two legged playoff against NSL side Murang’a Seal, winning the first leg in Thika 2-1 before going down 2-3 in the reverse fixture in Murang’a to stay in the league on the away goals rule after the two sides had tied 4-4 on aggregate.

Kenyan football is currently under the FKF Transition Committee which took over from the FKF Caretaker Committee that was set in place following the state’s disbandment of the Nick Mwendwa led FKF in November last year.

This action saw Kenya receive an indefinite suspension from FIFA in February of this year.
