Wazalendo earned the right to represent Kenya in the continental championships after finishing second to Butali Sugar during the 2019 Kenyan league season.
Wazalendo started their Africa Cup for Champions Clubs on a losing note, going down to Egypt’s Zamalek in their Pool B opener at the Theodosiah Okoh Hockey Stadium in Accra, Ghana on Thursday 24 November 2021.
The Kenyan representatives went behind to Ahmed Ali Metwali’s 8th minute goal but drew level through Wycliff Mbeda’s 47th minute goal.
Mohamed Mahmoud sank Wazalendo with a 55th minute goal that needs the Kenyans needing to bounce back when they take on home team Ghana Revenue Authority on Thursday 25 November 2021.
