Southampton and Kenyan international Victor Wanyama was given the marching orders during Saturday’s English Premier League match against West Ham at St. Mary’s .

Wanyama had had a good game after providing the killer pass that Maya Yoshida  drilled home for the only goal of the match that secured the three points in the 9th minute.

However referee Mark Clattenburg didn’t hesitate to dish out a straight red card as Wanyama appeared to have divedin on West Ham midfielder Dimitri Payet nine minutes after the interval.  This was Wanyama’s third red card this season after receiving others against Bournemouth and Norwich.

The win was Southampton’s fourth in five games and pushed their tally to 37 points and leaves them 7th on the log.

Surprise boys Leicester who beat Manchester City 3-1 lead the log on 53 points, 5 clear of second placed Tottenham Hotspurs.
