Wanyama bags February's Carling Goal of the Month award

Harambee and Tottenham Hotspurs Midfielder Victor Wanyama's goal has been voted the February's Carling Goal of the Month.

The Kenyan had come on as substitute as Spurs trailed Liverpool and barely took a minute to send a rocket shot that evened the scoreline.

Wanyama's goal beat other good shots by Danilo, Mario Lemina, Jose Izquierdo (twice), Mohamed Salah, Sergio Aguero and Adam Smith.

An excited Wanyama told the Premier League’s Official Website :

"That was one of my best goals I've ever scored," he said. "I just reacted before the Liverpool players.

"I thought I'd just let it go because the ball was bouncing and I didn't want to think too much. And I just let it fly."

A panel of experts and members the public voted  via the Carling Tap and Carling website.

Wanyama has been named in Coach Stanley Okumbi’s team for two Harambee Stars friendlies this month in Morocco.

EPL giants Liverpool and Manchester United are keen to lure him away from Tottenham.
