Walkover stricken Enterprise Cup reaches semifinal stage

Walkover stricken Enterprise Cup reaches semifinal stage
Kabras Rugby

This has been the case in this year’s competition which has been marred by walkovers across the round of 16 and the quarters, with many teams opting not to play

The semifinalists are now known in the Enterprise and Mwamba Cups after Saturday’s quarterfinal action.

Defending champions Kabras Sugar are through to the last four by way of a walkover against the Strathmore Leos.

Also reaching the last four by way of walkovers were KCB and Impala Saracens after their opponents Blak Blad and Kisumu were no shows.

This has been the case in this year’s competition which has been marred by walkovers across the round of 16 and the quarters, with many teams opting not to play following the conclusion of the Kenya Cup league season and raising questions about the place of the oldest existing tournament in the Kenyan rugby calendar.

Remember, this tournament has been in existence since 1928 and was first played way back in 1930, nearly 100 years ago.

Menengai Oilers completed the semifinal pairing after defeating Nondescripts 53-5 in the only quarterfinal fixture that was played.

The subsidiary Mwamba Cup quarterfinals were also played on Saturday with Kenya Harlequin II, Blak Blad II, Strathmore II and KCB II all making it to the last four.
