Waithira had been a free agent from the start of the year after his exit from Bandari following the expiry of his contract.

Former Bandari winger Joe Waithira has joined Football Kenya Federation Premier League debutants Murang’a Seal.Waithira had been a free agent from the start of the year after his exit from Bandari following the expiry of his contract.
 

Waithira had spent a year at the coastal club having joined the 2019 Cup winners last year from Sofapaka.Besides Bandari and Sofapaka, Waithira has featured for Wazito/ now Muhoroni Youth, and the defunct Nakumatt. He secured his first Harambee Stars call-up during his days at Wazito under coach Frank Ouna.

Seal have been active from the time the mid-season transfer window opened, acquiring players with top-flight experience in a bid to stabilize in the competition.

 

The Gikuu-based club snapped former Harambee Stars midfielder Dennis Odhiambo whose top-flight and international experience will be of help to them going forward.
Odhiambo was unattached for more than a year before the deal to join the club came his way.
 

Seal also appointed veteran tactician Abdallah Juma to fill in the gap left by Gabriel Kingi who was shown the door last month over a series of unwanted results.Seal were impressive in the early part of this season but appear to have run out of gas and ideas in recent times.

The team was among the pacesetters in the title race but find themselves in the bottom half of the standings, a few points above the red zone. The team last won a league game in November last year when they humbled Tusker 2-1 at St. Sebastian Park. Since then, they haven't tasted victory in nine successive matches, leaving the concerned to inject fresh blood in the playing unit.
