Vihiga Queens returned to winning ways with a 2-0 victory over Trinity Starlets in the Women Premier League (WPL) action on Wednesday, March 12, 2025. The match, held at Moi Stadium in Kisumu, saw a goalless first half before Vihiga took control in the second half. Diana Cherono Sigei broke the deadlock in the 68th minute, finishing a pass from Noel Amutata. The two combined again in the 81st minute, with Sigei scoring her second goal to seal the win. This result brought Vihiga to 30 points, just three behind leaders Kenya Police.
League leaders Kenya Police Bulkets dropped points in a 1-1 draw against Zetech Sparks at Zetech University Mang’u campus. Zetech took the lead in the 16th minute through former bullets player Bertha Omita’s strike, but Police equalized five minutes later with Rebecca Okwaro’s goal, assisted by Emily Moranga. Despite the draw, Police remain in first place with 33 points, but the gap has narrowed with Kibera Soccer Women in hot pursuit.
Kibera Soccer Women received free points after a walkover from WADADIA FC. WADADIA who had earlier on announced dissolution are now officially relegated after giving out a third walkover. In the other matches, Ulinzi Starlets earned a 1-0 victory over Mombasa Olympic, with Joy Kinglady scoring the winning goal in the 52nd minute. Bungoma Queens were held to a goalless draw by KISPED, while Kisumu All Starlets ended a five-match winless streak with a 3-1 win over Bunyore Starlets, with goals from Madrine Kinila, Daisy Cherop, and Faith Atieno.
