Vihiga Queens were in no mood for pleasantries as they hammered Kayole Starlets 7-0 in Sunday’s FKF Women Premier League action in Mumias.

Topistar Situma scored four goals in the 29th, 35th, 43rd and 51st minutes with Eve Chemtai grabbing a brace in the 78th and 89th minutes to top up Mercyline Anyango’s 20th minute opener.

Vihiga are now 11 points clear of second placed Ulinzi Starlets who edged Nakuru City Queens 2-1 in Ruaraka through goals from Siliya Rasoha and Gentrix Kuyudi in the 45th and 51st minutes. Nabangala Nyongesa got Nakuru’s consolation in the 63rd minute.

Zetech Sparks continued with their fine run of form, defeating defending champions Thika Queens 2-1 at GEMS Cambridge through goals from Elizabeth Wanyoyi and Juliet Andibo’s own goal. Stella Odhiambo scored Thika’s consolation.

There were wins for Wadadia and Trans Nzoia Falcons in Saturday’s FKF Women’s Premier League action.

Wadadia made the short trip to Kisumu, defeating hosts Kisumu All Starlets 1-0 through Jackline Chesang’s goal at the Moi Stadium.

Falcons defeated visiting Bunyore Starlets 2-0 at the ASK Showground in Kitale through Ruth Chebungei’s brace.

Bottom of the table Kangemi Ladies frustrated Gaspo Women, holding them to barren draw at the Stima Club.
