A 3-1 victory over Zetech Sparks at the Mumias Complex saw Vihiga Queens secure the 2021/22 FKF Women’s Premier League title.

Topister Situma’s 24th and 38th minute brace alongside Immaculate Wangila’s 85th minute strike were enough to steer Boniface Nyamunyamu’s side to their fourth title, with four matches of the regular season still to play.

Zetech got their solitary goal in the 82nd minute.

Speaking after the game, Nyamunyamu said, “Congratulations to my players, technical bench, officials, our fans and all those involved who made sure we got this. However, our objective remains to finish the league and we have to do this in the remaining four matches.”

This result took Vihiga to 50 points from 16 wins and 2 draws in their 18 outings to date.

Vihiga Queens had won titles in 2016/17, 2017/18 and 2018/19 before Thika Queens won the 2020/21 title. The 2019/20 season was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
