Vihiga Queens are through to the semifinals of the FKF Women’s Cup after edging out Eldoret Falcons 4-1 on post-match penalties following a goalless draw in regular time.
The Falcons held their own against the giants of women’s football, frustrating Vihiga for 90 minutes in a tightly contested match. But it was the three-time Cup winners who held their nerve in the shootout.
Vihiga will now face Bungoma Queens, who booked their first-ever semifinal slot with a convincing 3-0 win over Trinity Starlets. Catherine Khaemba scored twice while Ruth Chebungei added the third.
