Upperhill up against tough fighting Kipchimchim

Metropolitan region representatives Upper Hill School will face an uphill task when they take on Kipchimchim from Nakuru region in the fight for a semi finals berth in the ongoing Kenya Secondary School Sports Association Airtel Rising Stars Term Two ‘B’ games in Embu.

Upper Hill , the defending champions, have four points same as their opponents following convincing wins against Mandera High School 7-0 and 7-1 respectively in pool ‘B’ which in a difficult group. They both drew against Kathungi leaving the final match a must win to either side.

Third-placed Kathungi Secondary from the Northern region, who have two points, are expected to easily beat Mandera in their must-win match which would propel them to five points, with a chance to qualify for the semis.

In girls’ football, Aberdare’s Nginda and Northern region representatives Ntunene were yesterday eliminated from the tournament after registering their second straight losses.

Nginda lost 4-0 to Metropolitan’s Olympic Girls just a day after being walloped 3-0 by Northern region’s other representatives Chogoria in pool ‘A’. Ntunene suffered a second consecutive 6-0 whitewashing in the hands of Tartar from Nzoia, having fallen by the same margin to Mombasa’s St John’s Kaloleni.

In pool ‘A’, both Olympics and Nakuru region representatives, Moi Kapcherop share the lead on four points while Chogoria is third with three.

In pool ‘B’,  Lake region’s Jera Girls together with Tartar have four points while St John’s have three.
