Harambee Stars can sigh a relief after Uganda Cranes beat Burundi to allow Kenya finish second in the group and qualify for the quarter final of the 2015 Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup.

After a dismal performance against Zanzibar on Friday, all fingers were crossed during the final Group match that would determine Kenya’s fate.

Lady luck smiled Kenya’s way in the 70th minute when substitute Frank Kalanda netted the only goal at the Hawassa International Stadium on Saturday.

The win by Uganda Cranes pushed them to the top of the group with six point while Kenya tied with Burundi on four points but a more goals scored difference left Kenya as the second best in the group.

Kenya beat Uganda 2-0 before settling for 1-1 draw with Burundi.Micheal Olunga and Jacob Keli have scored two goals each for Kenya in the tournament.

Coach Bobby Williamson who apologised to Kenya after his line-up experiment almost ruined Kenya's chances of defending the title now has a chance to redeem himself  in the quarter final stage.
