Tusker re-sign Wafula as Matano looks to build stronger second leg team
Tusker rebuilding for second leg charge
Noah Wafula has returned to Tusker FC following an unsuccessful stint in Uganda with Vipers SC and coach Robert Matano hopes his return can ignite the side to give a final push for the league crown, though their chances look to be very slim.
Wafula becomes Matano’s fifth signing of the mid-season window with the club having already brought on board midfielders David Naftali and Tom Adwar while defender Brian Odhiambo and striker David Majak were also roped in earlier on.
“I am very happy with how they are integrating in the team and they have certainly made us stronger. We had a problem especially in finishing and with the new creative players, I trust we will be better,” Matano stated.
He hopes his side will push to finish well though he concedes fighting for the title will be a bit tough.
“We will not give up till the last day but our ambition now is to win a match at a time and see what comes of it at the end of the season. We have to play to win and be consistent,” the experienced tactician stated.
They face Mathare United in Nakuru on Saturday with hope of three points to take them into the top four.
