Nzoia who are set to host Kariobangi Sharks are ranked third with 60 points and will hope that the two giants will share points at Nyayo.

The Kenyan Premier League clash pitting holders Tusker against record champions Gor Mahia is the talk of town given that the winner will inch closer to the title.

The two titans are scheduled to clash at Nyayo Stadium on Saturday as the league resumes after a break that paved way for the domestic cup semi-finals matches.

Tusker top the league standings with 64 points, one ahead of Gor  who are placed second on the log.

With four matches remaining, both teams will be looking to bag maximum points from the clash and march closer to hoisting the title.

A draw between the teams will hand the third-placed Nzoia Sugar an advantage as the Bungoma based club is still in contention for the gong.

Ahead of the highlight match of the weekend, Tusker winger Erick Zakayo says the team has been working hard in training in a bid to be fully ready for the match that bears the potential of determining who will run away with the title.

Zakayo who resumed training late last week after recovering from a hamstring injury said their win over Ulinzi Stars in the Cup semis last weekend injected renewed confidence in the team that is hoping for double glory in the campaign.

“This is a game we cannot afford to lose. It is a must win for us and that’s why we have been preparing for it seriously. We don’t want anything short of a win. Beating Gor will be a massive boost in our quest to retain the title,” said the ex-Tusker Youth player.

Gor head into the game hoping to redeem themselves after bowing to AFC Leopards in their previous match.

K’Ogalo beat Tusker 2-1 in the first leg.
