Super Strathmore humiliate Ugandans at their backyard
Kenya’s women representative at the ongoing Africa hockey club championships Strathmore University ‘Scorpions’ on Sunday morning thrashed Ugandan side Ladies Kampala with a convincing 11-0 triumph at the Lugogo grounds in Kampala as the tournament entered its second day.
Scorpions coach Meshack Senge while speaking after the match on Sunday praised the character of the girls who showed good display, playing according to their tactical training and instructions.
“It was a very powerful opening and we are all excited by the performance of the girls. Everyone played according to instructions, with very good positioning and pitch movement. Each and every player showed positive character and intention.” Senge said while speaking from Kampala on phone.
Strathmore will next play against Ghanaian representatives on Tuesday.
The other Kenyan representatives at the competition Telkom Orange also had a fantastic opening match, walloping Uganda’s Waterhead 7-0 on Saturday. Kenya Police also posted a 2-0 win over Nigerians while Nairobi Simba drew 2-2 against Ghana.
