A brace by Yvonne Karanja in the first half ensured Kenya’s Strathmore University collected maximum points in their second match at the ongoing Africa hockey club championships in Kampala Uganda. Strathmore who had won their opening match against Kampala Ladies on Sunday now have six points after their 2-1 win over Ghana Revenue Authority.

Speaking after the match, Strathmore Coach Meshack Senge lauded the girls for staying mentally strong despite repeated frustrations from the match umpires, “Technically this was a more difficult match compared to our first match where we won 11-0 but I commend the girls because they showed even stronger commitment and better concentration.” He said.

“The officiating was very poor with the umpires making very unfair calls and judgments throughout the match. However, the girls maintained their mental discipline and remained focused; in the end we were triumphant.” He adds.
