Starlets to hit camp ahead of Albania friendly
This is the first international engagement for Starlets in over a year after Football Kenya Federation’s (FKF) suspension by the World football governing body FIFA.
National Women’s football team, Harambee Starlets, are scheduled to hit camp on 30 March in preparation for an international friendly match against Albania set for 11 April, 2023, in Tirana.
This is the first international engagement for Starlets in over a year after Football Kenya Federation’s (FKF) suspension by the World football governing body FIFA.
The federation has also confirmed that the squad, yet to be released officially, will be under a new tactician in Godfrey Oduor who has been serving as Premier League side KCB FC’s assistant coach.
Oduor who is commonly known as Solo, succeeds Charles Okere who was head coach when the federation was handling the team. Alex Alumira was given the team’s reins under the Caretaker Committee but did not take charge of any matches due to the suspension.
After reporting to camp 30 March, the team is expected to leave for Albania on April 8, three days ahead of the match.
Albania are ranked more than 70 places above Kenya in FIFA Women’s ranking with the two sides in 73rd and 149th respectively.
