Nairobi Water handball team coach Jack Ochieng has challenged local clubs especially Ulinzi and Cereals to consider participating in regional tournaments.

Speaking after the recently concluded  East and Central Africa Club Championships held in Kigali Rwanda , Ochieng decried the low turn up saying it made the event less competitive.

He noted that participation in regional tournaments is a good avenue to give players exposure that will in turn improve the performance of the national team .

The coach advised his team's  local rivals among them Ulinzi and National Cereals and Produce Board to participate in International events in future, " I am glad we retained the trophy, but the event was not competitive as we could have loved it to be. Only three teams featured in the tournament and we didn't have  the tough opponents,"

He added, " Year in year out we (Nairobi) have continued to feature in the annual event and its sad that our local rivals have not been keen to follow in our footmarks. I hope in future they consider taking part because it's through events like this that players can get exposure and experience that the country needs in order  to growth game." Noted the tactician.
