SportPesa rekindle Gor Mahia love affair with three year, Ksh 240m deal
The new deal signed on Friday in Nairobi is a three year deal worth Ksh 80 million per annum.
Record Kenyan champions Gor Mahia have renewed their partnership with betting firm SportPesa.
SportPesa had initially signed a five year sponsorship deal with SportPesa six years ago but were forced to terminate it in 2019 after announced they were cutting ties with all their local sporting partners as a row between them and the taxman rages on over new betting and gaming rules was imposed by the Kenyan Government.
The new deal signed on Friday in Nairobi is a three year deal worth Ksh 80 million per annum.
“Today is a great day for both SportPesa and Gor Mahia as we enter this partnership once again.
“We have seen a lot of success in our previous partnership, and I am confident that this marks the beginning of greater things to come,” stated SportPesa CEO Ronald Karauri.
“I want to just say a huge thank you to SportPesa for coming back to rescue us with this new partnership.
“We have achieved so much as a club courtesy of SportPesa and I can say without a doubt that this is the best sponsor we have had since the inception of the club in 1968,” Gor chairman Ambrose Rachier stated.
“Now that we are back where we belong with SportPesa, there is no limitation to what we can do.
“I assure our fans that Gor is on the way back to the top of Kenyan football,” Captain Philemon Otieno concluded.
