Spaniard Campillo wins Magical Kenya Open
Japan’ Masahiro Kawamura finished in second place just a few strokes ahead of compatriot Ryo HISATSUNE Who was third.
Spaniard Jorge Campillo was on Sunday crowned the Magical Kenya Open champion after a nervy final day where he collected his third DP World Tour title and first since 2020 with a two-shot victory at Muthaiga.
The 36 year old Spaniard staged a super final stretch of five under par 66 to beat Kawamura by just two shots. The win at Muthaiga earned Campillo a cool Ksh. 43,520,000 in prize money and a beautiful trophy handed over by Kenya’s prime cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi.

Kenya’s sensational youngster Mutahi Kibugu finished 65th to take home a prize purse of over 1.5 Million shillings , this including ksh. 1 Million from Absa who had pledged the cash for any Kenyan who will make the cut.
Mutahi Kibugu was the lone Kenyan in the final round of action at the Par 71 Muthaiga Golf Club beating a field of experienced Kenyan pros who failed to make the cut once again.
Mutahi followed in the footsteps of his brother Njoroge Kibugu who was the only Kenyan to make the cut during the 2022 edition of the same tournament.
