Kenyan Premier League club Sofapaka secured their top-flight status for another season after defeating Naivas FC in the promotion/relegation playoff. The final score was 2-0 on aggregate.
Sofapaka went into the second leg with a one-goal advantage thanks to a late strike by Jacob Onyango in the first match.
Naivas started strong, putting pressure on Sofapaka in search of an equalizer. However, Sofapaka held firm and scored themselves just before halftime. Darius Msagha set up Andre Kalama for the goal in the 43rd minute.
The goal proved decisive, as Sofapaka went on to win the match and the playoff series.
