Sliders slide past Vikings, Parklands get free points

Dosillah Agunda scored from a penalty flick as Sliders defeated Vikings 1-0 in a women league match played at the City Park Stadium on Sunday morning.

 The match was preceded by the  men national league match pitting national men reigning champions Parklands who had a  walk in  the park collecting three points and five goals after their opponents Mombasa Institute from the coast region failed to turn up for the match that was set for 9.00am.

Agunda and former Kenyatta University captain Sikwatta Ndombellah Combined early on with the former sliding wide a through ball from the advancing forward.

 Agunda slid in the lone goal of the day  after 24 minute sending Brenda Nandwa the wrong side from a flick.

Keeper Flavian Amuhaya had to perfectly tip off Faith Karimi and Charity Miller successions chances for Vikings in the first half to keep her team in the lead.

 With the win, Sliders moved to 9 points same as Strathmore University’s Scorpions with both teams having played four matches.

Telkom Orange lead the table standings with 18 points having won all their opening rounds of matches.
