Kenya’s Shujaa team put up a spirited fight but ultimately fell 21-12 to Fiji in the final of the Singapore Sevens on Sunday, April 6, 2025, at the Singapore National Stadium. Despite a strong start, the Kenyan team could not hold off a resurgent Fiji in the second half, extending their winless streak against Fiji to 15 matches.

Shujaa took the lead just before halftime through Nygel Amaitsa, who capitalized on a turnover and sprinted to score, giving Kenya a 7-0 advantage at the break. However, Fiji’s second-half comeback, spearheaded by Viwa Madulova, saw them level the score before taking control with a second try from Madulova and a further try by Rauto Alusio, securing a 21-7 lead.

Kenya’s William Mwanji managed a try in the dying seconds, but it was not enough to overturn Fiji’s commanding lead. Despite the loss, this marks Kenya's best performance in the 2025 HSBC Sevens World Series, securing their first finals appearance since 2018.
