Sharks forward Abege signs for Kotoko
Kariobangi Sharks forward George Abege has joined Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko on a two year deal reportedly costing 2.5million shillings. Abege played his last game for Sharks last Sunday in the friendly match against English Premier League side Everton FC scoring one of the penalties in their 4-3 win.
Abege has been scouted by the Ghanaian giants after he impressed them during their CAF Confederations Cup meeting last December and they opened formal talks with the Kenyan side after the season ended.
It is a worthy business move for Sharks getting a good amount of money on a 31-year old player who they signed for only Sh200,000 from Sony Sugar two seasons ago. The forward has also played for Nairobi City Stars and Bandari.
Meanwhile, Sharks have confirmed that there has been interest for Harrison Mwendwa as well as Duke Abuya, but are reluctant to sell the two star players. Abuya has been courted by Gor Mahia since last season and with one of their targets Cliff Nyakeya heading out to Egypt’s Al Masry, he will be a prime target once again.
