Samsung joins Rising Stars in search of football app

This year’s Rising Stars youth soccer competition was launched on Wednesday morning in Nairobi with main sponsors Airtel announcing a renewed four year partnership with the Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA).

 During the unveiling, Airtel presented 10.5 Million shillings to the KSSSA officials as well as unveiling the new kit to be used by all participating teams starting from the regional provincial level.

Airtel has also signed a multi Million Dollar partnership deal with Samsung who will become the official device partner of the Rising Star tournament.

This partnership also targets to offer young people who are not talented in soccer an opportunity to participate in football app contest for android. In this contest, young techies will submit their apps where a panel of judges will pick the best two apps for commercialization.

 The winner of this year’s competition will earn a direct ticket to Nigeria where they will take part in a pan African competition that brings together champions from different countries in Africa.
