Kenya Harlequin ended Menengai Oilers with a 33 – 16 win in match day 7 action at the RFUEA Ground on Saturday 3 February 2024.

Quins half back Cornelius Mokoro and Oliers winger Dennis Abukuse traded penalties for a 3-3 before John Okoth went over to give the Oilers an 8-3 lead at the break.

Mokoro would convert Richel Wangila’s try to see Quins go 10-8 early in the second half before another Abukuse penalty put the Oilers 11-10 up.

Two Mokoro penalties and a conversion took Quins 23-11 ahead.

Beldad Ogeta landed his 10th try of the season to bring the Oilers seven points behind, the scores 23-16 at this point.

Mokoro added another penalty before converting Mohamed Khaider’s try to confirm the result for Quins.

KCB 47 – 8 Kenyatta University Blak Blad

Meanwhile, KCB were 47-8 winners at home to Kenyatta University Blak Blad at the KCB Sports Club.

The evergreen Davis Chenge landed KCB’s first try, Lionel Ajeliti converting for a 7-0 lead before Blad responded through Dennis Gitau’s penalty.

 

Mike Kimwele’s try put KCB 12-3 up before Ian Obukwa’s unconverted try brought Blad to 12-8.

Elvis Olukusi grounded KCB’s third try, Ajeliti converting for a 19-8 lead at the break.

Two Ajeliti conversions from tries by Bob Muhati and Bill Opaka took KCB 33-8 up.

Further tries from Muhati and Vincent Onyala converted by Ajeliti confirmed the full time result.

Kabras Sugar 66 – 7 Nakuru

Elsewhere, Kabras Sugar stayed top of the log with a 66-7 home win over Nakuru at the Kakamega Showground.

Tries from Patrick Lumumba, Mathias Osimbo and Brian Mutua converted by Ntabeni Dukisa put the hosts 21-0 up.

Osimbo’s brace took Kabras 26-0 up before Brian Tanga’s mazy run and try converted by Dukisa took Kabras 33-0 up.

Roy Nandwa touched down for Nakuru, Phillip Okeyo converting for the 33-7 score at half time.

Second half tries from Alfred Orege, Eugene Sifuna, Brian Juma’s brace and Walter Okoth peppered by two conversions each from Dukisa and Eric Cantona sealed the win from Kabras.

Other results saw Nondescripts defeat Strathmore Leos 21-20 as Homeboyz remained winnless following their 16-16 draw with Kisumu as Mwamba defeated Catholic Monks 32-16 at the Catholic University.
