Kenya will co-host the AFCON 2027 edition alongside its East Africa Compatriots Uganda and Tanzania.
President William Ruto has assured that Kenya will be fully prepared to co-host the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). He made this commitment during a meeting with Confederation of African Football (CAF) President Patrice Motsepe at State House in Nairobi on Monday.
“Kenya will be ready to co-host the AFCON tournament come 2027. The preparations of our three stadiums; renovations of Kasarani and Nyayo stadiums and construction of the brand new Talanta Sports City Stadium are progressing really well,” he said.
“We commit that Kasarani and Nyayo will be ready by the end of this year for the African Nation Championships (CHAN) 2025 while Talanta stadium construction will be complete by December next year in readiness for AFCON,” he added,
Kenya will co-host the AFCON 2027 edition alongside its East Africa Compatriots Uganda and Tanzania. The three countries submitted a bid dubbed ‘Pamoja’ which then won the rights to host the 2027 battle of African football giants.
