Police arrest Parkroad to move eight points clear
Kenya Police announced their intentions to reclaim the coveted Kenya Premier League crown with a convincing 4-0 win over Parkroad at the City Park Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The match picked from where it stopped last weekend following heavy downpour that left the artificial turf flooded and unplayable. Brian Saina’s goal in the fifth minute from last week stood as the premier league match continued from the 8th minute.
Injured forward Francis Eshukuri beat the deadline to return with an important brace. He Scored in the 15th minute with a back hand finish after midfielder Oliver Echenje laid a pass back to the advancing forward.
He got the match’s third and his double in the 22nd minute via a field goal that saw three Police players make quick exchange of passes from Captain Richard Birir, Willis Okeyo who dribble towards goal before setting the goal scorer for a no mistake finish.
Forward Moses Cheplait made sure he was on the score sheet six minutes after the breather with a trademark hard hit shot to seal victory.
Goalkeeper James Kayeko showed satisfaction from the win while admitting Parkroad were more relaxed in the match than they were a week ago.
“They panicked and played with fear in the match that was stopped. Today they came out stronger while creating more chances. Of course what matters to us is that we picked important points today.” said the custodian.
Police have 100% record having won all their opening six matches with an important eight point lead at the summit of the13 team men premier league.
