Police are ranked third with 20 points from ten matches and will hope that both Jaguars and Butali will have a falter at some point so as to stand a chance of reclaiming the title they last won in 201

The race to the Kenya Hockey Union men's Premier League title has attracted three teams as Butali Warriors, Western Jaguars and Kenya Police are firmly in contention for the gong.

The KHU competitions took a break last weekend to pave way for the national teams that are preparing for the Paris 2024 Olympics qualifiers set for October 29-November 5 in South Africa.

Defending champions, Butali top the men's table with 26 points from ten matches although they have played a game more than Jaguars who have also been impressive in the season.

Butali are the only unbeaten side in the top flight as they , have won eight matches and drawn twice.

Jaguars, have 22 points from nine matches and could eat the gap between them and Butali to a point if they emerge victorious in the game in hand.

Wazalendo are ranked fourth with 14 points with USIU-A Mashujaa closing the top five bracket with also 14 points against their name.

Women league

Record women's champions Blazers appear the clearest favorite and on course to reclaim the title as they top the competition with 24 points.

Blazers lost the title last season to Strathmore University Scorpions who are finding it hard to replicate last season's magic as the students are ranked fourth with twelve points.

Lakers are second with 17 points with Amira Sailors placing third with thirteen points.

Daikyo Heroes and Sliders top the men's and women's Super Leagues with 27 and 37 points respectively.

Impala and Bungoma Farmers are placed top of zonal nationwide leagues with 29 and 14 points respectively.
