Top flight sides Posta Rangers and Kenya Police have confirmed their place in the Mozzart Bet Cup round of 32 after emerging victorious in the preliminary round.
Rangers edged Wisdom Soccer Academy 2-0 at the Ndura Sports Complex with Police reaping a similar scoreline against Vegpro at the Longonot Horticulture Grounds in Naivasha.
The two teams were among the 'unlucky' outfits that had to feature in the preliminary round, meaning that they had to be in action while the rest who were handed byes enjoyed a rest day.
Posta, had Brian Marita to thank as his brace was enough to outwit Wisdom Academy who were hoping that pull their giant-killing instincts and advance to the next round.
Marita who has been on top of his game in recent weeks found the back of the net in the 57th and 74th minutes of the game to see his side through to the next round.
Police on the other hand needed goals from South Sudanese forward Tito Okello and Samuel Onyango who joined the club earlier in the week to sail through.
Okello broke the deadlock barely a minute into the game with Onyango who joined the law enforcers from Zambian Super League side Kabwe Warrios sealing the win in the 46th minute.
Meanwhile, FC Talanta and Bandari are among the teams that will be action on Sunday where four matches are lined up.
Talanta have a date with Marafiki while Bandari who won the title in 2019 will face Bungoma Stars.
The winner of the title will pocket two million shillings and on top of that, will qualify for the CAF Confederation Cup.
Kakamega Homeboyz are the defending champions having beaten Tusker 1-0 in last edition's final played at Kasarani Stadium in July last year.
