Police, Butali in winning form as Africa Hockey starts at City Park

In the Monday 7:00am fixtures , Police defender Sammy Oungo scored the only goal as the law enforcers beat Hippos of Zimbabwe 1-0.

Kenya Police and Butali Sugar began their Africa Cup of Club Champions campaign on a positive note as each won their opening fixtures at the Sikh Club, Nairobi. 

In the Monday 7:00am fixtures , Police defender Sammy Oungo scored the only goal as the law enforcers beat Hippos of Zimbabwe 1-0. Police will take on Khalasa Moshi on Tuesday at 7am. 

Butali on the other side had to dig deep as they resisted a late surge by Western Jaguars to win 2-1. Moses Ademba smartly finished a good Butali move to give them a first minute lead before Calvin Kanu extended their lead in the 36th minute. 

Jaguars pulled a goal back in the 58th minute through Derick Wakwabubi. 

 

On Tuesday, Butali will take on Exchequer at 9:00am, while Jaguars will play Weatherheads at 5:00pm.

In the ladies match, Lakers drew 1-1 with Blazers in the opener played at City Park.
