Pipeline take lead as Prison, KCB fall to Northerners

Kenya Pipeline beat Egyptian side, while KCB and Kenya Prisons dropped crucial points on day four of the ongoing Africa women volleyball club championships in Cairo.

 Kenya defending champions Kenya Prisons were on Tuesday dealt  a major blow when their key attacker Evelyne Makuto sustained a scary knee  injury during their match against GSP of Algeria.

Being their third match at the ongoing Africa Women Club Championships in Cairo Egypt , Prisons needed a win to consolidate their position at the summit of Group D standings  but they committed too many errors allowing  a 3-1 win for the North Africa side that now enjoy pole position.

The loss saw the former champions drop to second position after three matches with two wins and a loss.GSP of Algeria moved to the top of the group on 8 points after three wins.

Kenya Pipeline on the other hand were the biggest winners of the day as they picked their second win at the championships  with a 3-0  victory over  Egyptian side Shooting.

With the win , Pipeline are comfortably perched at the summit of Group C standings with six points same as second placed FAP of Cameroon.

The third Kenyan side KCB also slumped on day four losing 3-1 to Egyptian side Sporting. With two wins from three matches, KCB are placed second on the Group B log,behind Carthage of  Tunisia.
