Penalties galore as Sofapaka, Ulinzi escape elimination
Ulinzi Stars, Sofapaka, Posta Rangers, Kisumu All-stars , Ushuru and KCB all had to cruise past their opponents through penalty shootouts after stalemates in regulation time.
It was a weekend full of penalties as top tier teams struggled past lower ranked clubs in the FKF Shield Cup round of 32 last weekend.
Ulinzi Stars, Sofapaka, Posta Rangers, Kisumu All-stars , Ushuru and KCB all had to cruise past their opponents through penalty shootouts after stalemates in regulation time.
It was a long afternoon for the soldiers as Ulinzi sailed through after 17 penalties at the Mumias Sports Complex, the soldiers winning 9-8 after a one all draw against Luanda Villa.
Sofapaka too needed the extra luck to defeat Balaji EPZ 5-4 after a barren draw in normal time.
