Pamzo eyes top eight spot as Posta welcome Sofapaka
Posta Rangers head coach Sammy Omollo is hopeful that his side can finish within the top eight slots despite having a tough season
Posta Rangers head coach Sammy Omollo is hopeful that his side can finish within the top eight slots despite having a tough season. The mailmen are currently placed 12th on the Kenyan premier League log and will be facing Sofapaka in a tough tie at the Camp Toyoyo on Wednesday afternoon.
“We have had a very tough season because of the very many challenges we have had as a team. But the focus now is to try and finish within the top eight. It is a very possible venture because if we win the game at hand against Sofapaka, we will only be goal difference away,” the tactician said.
Omollo has also rued the transfer of his two keepers Patrick Matasi and Farouk Shikhalo to Tusker and Bandari respectively have had a huge impact on his team.
“If you look at how we play, Matasi and Farouk were very vital in that especially with how we build from the back. Seeing them go meant we had to change and that meant we disrupt our flow. Also, most of the players who did well last season are yet to hit form this year and it has been worrying,” further noted the coach.
Against Sofapaka, Omollo says it will be a tough tie but remains confident they can bounce back from last weekend’s defeat against Nakumatt.
“If we can pick up from how we played in the second half against Nakumatt, I know we will do well. Sofapaka is a tough team, one of the best in the league and it will not be easy against them. But we have some good personnel in the team who can handle them,” added the coach.
They will miss the services of striker Cavin Odongo who has been suspended after accumulating five yellow cards.
