Ouna named new KCB Coach
Immediate former Wazito FC coach Frank Ouna has been appointed new KCB boss on a two year deal.
Ouna takes over from Elvis Ayany who was holding forte on interim basis after the exit of John Kamau four months ago.
Ayany led the bankers back to the Kenyan Premier League, guiding them through six successive wins to confirm their return to top flight football. With Ouna's arrival, he is expected to drop back to his role as assistant coach.
Ouna resigned at Wazito last week after they were relegated from the top tier.
"This is a new and bigger challenge and I am glad to get this opportunity. We are still setting base and once I get in and start working with pre season and all, we should be able to set targets. But definitely I want to succeed with the team," Ouna told MichezoAfrika.com.
Ouna joined Wazito whilst they were still in the NSL and after helping them avoid relegation in his first six months in charge, led them to the top tier the following season after finishing second in the Super League.
Previously, he worked as an assistant to Frank Nuttall at Gor Mahia where they won the Kenyan Premier League title together in 2015.
He has also previously worked in the same role at Posta Rangers.
The tactician says he will retain the same technical bench he has found at his new club, but will look to add a few more faces to the team.
KCB earned promotion back to the top tier after a three year absence following their second spot finish in the NSL.
They begin their KPL campaign away to Posta Rangers on December 8.
