Otula encourages parents to let their children participate in sports
Maseno School Principal and basketball coach Paul Otula encouraged parents to let their children participate in sports.
The coach stated that students can expand their academic scope if they have the opportunity to engage in sports, “sports has been known to go hand in hand with academics and if one can excel in one then on the other they can do so too.”
Otula gave the example of the top student last year who participated in rugby and further stated that the lowest grade that the players in the basketball team had was a B plain, “the lowest grade achieved by a player in the basketball team was a B plain. This goes to show that one can balance sports and academics at the same time.”
Maseno were runners up in the just concluded KSSSA basketball games which were hosted in Mangu where they were beaten by Upper Hill from Metropolitan 58-40.
