Mathare United have parted ways with Head Coach Boniface Omondi.

The 2008 champions confirmed this via a statement posted on its official digital platforms. 

“Mathare United can confirm that Boniface Omondi has left his role as head coach on mutual consent. The decision was arrived at on Thursday following a lengthy meeting between him and the club’s hierarchy.”

The statement also confirmed that a temporary replacement had been identified. 

“Current goalkeeper coach Samuel Koko will assume first-team coaching duties as the club embarks on finding a suitable replacement.”

Omondi's final match in charge was Wednesday's 0-5 home defeat to Kenya Police.

The once proud club are currently placed bottom of the FKFPL standings, with 4 points from 10 matches, having registered 1 win, 1 draw and 8 defeats.
